Grading assignments using SpeedGrader

SpeedGrader

As an instructor, you can use SpeedGrader to view and assess student assignment submissions using a basic point scale or a detailed rubric. It is called  SpeedGrader because it allows you to scroll through and between students and you can enter the grade for the various students. Because Canvas allows a number of document types and URLs to documents as assignment submissions, feedback can also be directly entered into the submission. This can be in the form of text or media/video. In this video, you will learn how to use SpeedGrader Links to an external site. to grade and comment on assignment submissions.

You can access SpeedGrader in Canvas through Assignments, Quizzes, Graded Discussions, and the Gradebook. Next, let's see how to use SpeedGrader for grading. Follow the steps below in your Sandbox site.

Step 1: Click the "Assignments" link in the Course Navigation.

Step 11: Make sure you click the submit button, if you want your comments to appear.
