The Syllabus in Canvas displays: (1) Course Syllabus and (2) Course Summary.

Course Syllabus: 

It would be good for you to include the following information in the Course Syllabus section:

• Course Description
• Course Lecturers (or Teaching Team)
• Learning Outcomes
• Pre-requisites / Co-requisites / Preclusions
• Workload Hours
• List of Topics
• Assessment Components and Weightage

This section serves as a gateway page for students (who are yet to register for courses) to explore course information and make an informed decision on the courses that they wish to register for. Adjust the course settings to make your course visible to non-enrolled students.

Important Note:  To maintain consistency of course information across different systems, it will be important for you update the syllabus to follow the same information as updated in the Curriculum Management System (CMS). The Curriculum Management System (CMS) at NUS can be accessed at: https://nus-cms.nus.edu.sg .

 

Course Summary:

This section communicates to your students exactly what will be required of them throughout the course in chronological order.
