Creating Folders in Your Course 'Files" Area
To help you organize the files you upload, you can create folders in the "Files" section of your Canvas course.
Step by step instructions are provided below.
Step 1: Click "Files" under the Course Navigation.
Step 2: Click the "+Folder" button in the top-right corner.
Step 3: A text entry field will appear at the top of the file's Name column. To confirm the name of your new folder, type in the name and click the check mark, or press the "Enter" / "Return" key on your computer.
Step 4: Your new folder will now show alphabetically or chronologically in your files list, depending on how the columns are arranged. To begin uploading files to your course, click on the folder to access it.
