Creating a survey

An overview

You can use surveys to get feedback from your students or to provide bonus points to those who respond. Graded surveys appear in the Syllabus, Gradebook, Calendar, and To Do Lists.

  • For surveys, the Student Analysis must be downloaded as a CSV file. For surveys, item analysis is not available.
  • Before or after a survey receives submissions, the anonymous option can be enabled or disabled, allowing a user with proper access to see a student's identify and responses.

Step 9: Name survey questions. Survey questions are not automatically numbered. Fill in the question text section with a custom name for your survey question. Custom names can make it easier to identify survey questions. Students always receive survey questions in numerical sequence, regardless of the question's name (i.e. Question 1, Question 2). Please check the question type guide (Links to an external site.)  to learn about the many options available for questions. If you want to make a question with a quantitative scale, you can use the Multiple dropdowns question type to make a Likert scale question. For more details, refer to the Likert scale guide. (Links to an external site.)
